 Ashwagandha is a herb. Its scientific name is Withania somnifera Dunal. In Ayurveda it is called Balda and Bajikari or winter cherry. Although this leaf is commonly used as a medicinal ingredient in Ayurvedic medicine. The use of Ashwagandha dates back to around 600 AD or earlier.
